Aman Mokhade Named Player of the Series; Ankur Panwar Tops Wicket Charts

Vidarbha opener Aman Mokhade finished 2025-26 as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 814 runs at an average of 90.44, including five hundreds, and was named Player of the Series. He fell just 17 runs short of N Jagadeesan's record for most runs in a single Vijay Hazare season.

Saurashtra seamer Ankur Panwar was the leading wicket-taker with 25 wickets, ahead of Zeeshan Ansari (Uttar Pradesh) and Satyanarayana Raju (Andhra), who took 21 each.

Mokhade Century and Nalkande Five-For Knock Out Defending Champions Karnataka

Vidarbha reached a second successive Vijay Hazare Trophy final by beating defending champions Karnataka by six wickets in the first semi-final. Darshan Nalkande's five-wicket haul restricted Karnataka before Aman Mokhade's century steered the chase home.

During the innings Mokhade equalled the record for the quickest 1,000 runs in List A cricket, getting there in just 16 innings — the quickest by an Indian.

Punjab Crush Madhya Pradesh by 183 Runs; Vidarbha Knock Out Delhi

Punjab posted 345 for 6 behind half-centuries from captain Prabhsimran Singh (88) and Anmolpreet Singh (70), then bowled Madhya Pradesh out for 162 in 31.2 overs — Punjab's biggest win by runs in the competition. Sanvir Singh took 3/31 and Gurnoor Brar bowled a fierce opening spell at over 140kph.

In the other quarter-final, Yash Rathod's 86 off 73 balls lifted Vidarbha to 300 for 9 against Delhi, and Nachiket Bhute (4/51) and Harsh Dubey (3/36) bowled Delhi out for 224 to win by 76 runs. Delhi captain Ishant Sharma claimed his 200th List A wicket in the match.

Rain-Hit Quarter-Finals: Karnataka Beat Mumbai, Saurashtra Edge Uttar Pradesh

Both of the first two quarter-finals were decided by the VJD method after rain interruptions. Karnataka beat Mumbai by 55 runs to keep their title defence alive, while Saurashtra beat Uttar Pradesh by 17 runs, ending UP's run after they had won all seven of their Group B matches.

League Stage Ends: Uttar Pradesh Unbeaten as Eight Teams Reach the Quarter-Finals

Uttar Pradesh were the only side to finish the Elite league stage unbeaten, winning all seven matches in Group B. The eight quarter-finalists were Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh (Group A), Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha (Group B), Punjab and Mumbai (Group C), and Delhi and Saurashtra (Group D).

The final round included a thriller in Jaipur, where Punjab beat Mumbai by just one run to top Group C.

Bihar rewrote the List A record books in Ranchi, piling up 574 for 6 against Arunachal Pradesh with 38 sixes — beating the previous record of 506/2 set by Tamil Nadu against the same opponents in 2022. Bihar won by 397 runs.
