The IPL 2023 auction took place on 23 December 2022 in Kochi. The most expensive player of the season was Sam Curran, who was bought by the Punjab Kings for ₹18.50 crore (US$2.3 million), the highest payment for a player in the league’s history.

IPL 2023 Schedule

The competition is usually held in the summer between March and May every year. This year Tata IPL 2023 was kicked off on 31st March with a beautiful opening ceremony that featured performances by singer Arijit Singh and South actresses Rasmika Mandhana and Tamhana Bhatia.
The first match of this tournament was played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on 1 March 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
